Another Section 301 Extension on the Horizon

Constitution Partners has received exclusive intelligence on the plans that the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) has for Section 301 tariffs as we approach the end of 2023.

In September 2023, USTR extended the 352 reinstated exclusions and 77 COVID-related exclusions from the China Section 301 tariffs. However, that extension is set to expire on December 31st, 2023.

Now, congressional offices are informing the Constitution Partners team that USTR's statutory four-year review of the tariffs will not conclude until next year. The Biden Administration likely intends for the Section 301 product exclusions to continue in tandem with the review period, Constitution Partners anticipates another extension to be issued before the December 31st deadline.

Constitution Partners is monitoring all USTR activity closely and will make our clients aware as soon as another extension is released. But, as these tariffs can make or break some American businesses, we wanted to let you know the good news in the interim!
